Description

Operate MI Cable Machinery in a safe and efficient manner to produce cables according to specifications and quality standards.

• Inspect raw materials and finished goods to ensure they meet company and industry standards.
• Adjust machine settings to accommodate different cable sizes and specifications.
• Record production data and report any issues to supervisors or maintenance teams.
• Test components and finished goods using various testing tools to ensure quality standards are met and record data accordingly.
• Prepare components and materials necessary for automation machinery.
• Make adjustments, repairs, and changeovers to equipment as needed.
• Recognize problems with equipment and components; assess their impact on operations and quality.
• Practice good housekeeping and follow safety procedures around powered automation equipment.

Requirements

Abilities/Skills Required:

• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and work over equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to follow instructions for processing and testing machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Knowledge of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, torque testers, etc.
• Skill in using basic hand tools.
• Ability to differentiate materials, colors, practices, and applications.
• Problem-solving skills to minimize equipment downtime.
• Teamwork skills, including training others and working with diverse backgrounds.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Minimum Educational/Experience Requirements

• 3+ years of previous experience operating machinery.

Preferred Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with automation equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with MI Cable production processes is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
