Job summary

BlueScope is seeking a Machine Operator to operate and maintain machinery that shapes materials into components. You will set up equipment, inspect products for quality, and support 5-S housekeeping and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Operate and Shape : Use machines to cut, punch, bend, weld, or shape materials into specified components to meet current demands.
• Prepare and Set Up : Set up machines and confirm specifications using drawings, blueprints, tablets, or other tools.
• Lift and Position Materials : Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
• Ensure Quality : Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications.
• Contribute to Improvement : Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and Organize : Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5-S practices.
