Position Objectives

  • Operate crème mixing machine to combine ingredients and produce final product.
  • Identify acceptable or unacceptable product quality based on customer requirements before and after packing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Essential Functions

  • Load raw ingredients into the mixer according to formulas and instructions.
  • Operate mixing controls to blend ingredients.
  • Transfer final product into troughs.
  • Perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping, trash disposal, and floor cleaning.
  • Record ingredient usage accurately.
  • Sort and dispose of product or scrap in designated containers.
  • Visually inspect for quality issues and remove unacceptable product.
  • Use measuring equipment precisely.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.s) at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Work closely with co-workers and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and safety regulations.
  • Set scales and operate metal detectors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including assisting in packing during slowdowns.
  • Report any foreign materials found in products or ingredients immediately.

Marginal Functions

  • Read scales for ingredient measurements.
  • Clean mixers as needed.

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Remove crème from mixers with a hoe.
  • Reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., and manual dexterity required.
  • Work in various environmental conditions, including wet, humid, and variable temperatures.
  • Stand for an entire shift, perform repetitive motions, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Apply basic math skills and interpret instructions in various formats.
  • Work over 40 hours/week and in close proximity to others in a fast-paced environment.

Working Relationships

  • Maintain positive relations across departments and with management.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.

Experience and Skills

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Good hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity, and basic math and reading skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
