Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for the overall quality and efficiency of the machine and is indirectly responsible for leading machine crews. The primary goal is to ensure the safe operation of a coffee packaging machine. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Principal Job Duties:
  • Operate production equipment safely and efficiently to meet production and waste goals.
  • Complete required documentation and checklists related to equipment operation; report malfunctions.
  • Interpret work orders and instructions accurately to follow proper materials and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operational issues.
  • Ensure coffee has had adequate time to gas off.
  • Complete changeover procedures, notify line support, and ensure delivery of necessary materials.
  • Use computer systems to manage coffee bins, print labels, and program packaging machines based on specifications.
  • Adjust equipment for case size and coffee amount without stopping production.
  • Manage packaging, including boxing, labeling, and taping.
  • Perform inspections of packages for quality assurance.
  • Identify and segregate nonconforming goods.
  • Handle and palletize boxes, record pallet information, and document downtime and maintenance requests.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines and work area.
  • Conduct machine checks and collect quality samples.
  • Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and contribute to safety goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • Ability to support a positive culture and collaborate across teams.
  • Fast-paced environment adaptability, troubleshooting, and basic math skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and tools familiarity.

Starting Pay Rate: $22.01
