Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and operate a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. You will secure and maintain material and supplies required for the operation, and you will monitor equipment to ensure safe, efficient performance.

The role involves completing pre-shift inspections, keeping a clean, organized workspace, recording production data, and ensuring products meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling.
• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Complete work area set up.
• Operate and feed the machine safely and efficiently per procedures.
• Stack finished products; cover, label and band components if required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area; ensure equipment is safe to operate.
• Complete pre-shift inspection checklist and report problems.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Keep production records as required.
• Check materials and finished products for quality compliance.
• Follow safety and quality procedures and participate in related programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes work area set up.

• Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.

• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.

• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.

• Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.

• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.

• Maintains production records as required.

• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.

• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.

• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED is preferred but not required.

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.

• Working knowledge of basic math preferred

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
