Job summary

Mitsubishi Power is seeking a Machine Operator at the Savannah Machinery Works location in Pooler, GA. The role requires reading blueprints, planning sheets, and technical data to determine tooling, setup, and sequencing for CNC and manual processes.

Preferred candidates have an associate degree or equivalent training and prior manufacturing experience. Candidates must be a US citizen and able to pass background checks and drug testing. High school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• US citizens with no need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
• Ability to pass routine background check and drug test per company policy.
• Associate degree or technical training or two years related experience preferred; or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Verify that operation setup and parameters meet acceptable quality and engineering specifications.
• Ability to learn, verify, and complete in-process and post operation visual and dimensional inspections to ensure part conformity.
• Complete all aspects of machine and part set up, perform daily/weekly/periodic operator maintenance.
• Interface with CNC controllers and their programming to load control media, and assist in troubleshooting or improving performance.
• Operate and manage multiple machines and manual processes concurrently and follow to achieve performance standards.
• Manually enter commands and adjust machine controls within prescribed limits to correct malfunctions/maintain process control.
• Complete routine OPMs and maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Perform other such duties as may be required.

Role Overview

Mitsubishi is seeking a Machine Operator for the Savannah Machinery Works location. The Machine Operator independently reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machine methods and sequences. Specialized knowledge in the area of CNC machine operation as well as manual processes required to complete the specific manufacturing processes.

• Verify that operation setup, and parameters meet acceptable quality and engineering specifications for the operation being performed.
• Ability to learn, verify, and complete in process and post operation visual and dimensional inspections to ensure part conformity
• Complete all aspects of machine and part set up, perform daily, weekly, and other periodic operator performed maintenance as required by the various machines, products, and fixtures being used.
• Interface with CNC controllers and their programming to load control media, work with others to assist in troubleshooting or improving operational performance, and change and monitor tool performance.
• Ability to operate and manage and monitor multiple machines and manual processes concurrently. Follow to achieve assigned performance standards
• Manually enter commands and adjust machine controls within prescribed process limits to correct malfunctions/ensure process remains within control parameters.
• Complete routine OPM’S as prescribed and maintain a clean and organized work station.
• Perform other such duties as may be required.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Applicants must be US Citizens of the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
• Ability to pass routine background check and drug test per company policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree, certificate, or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or precision mechanical assembly environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for quality.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to operate and understand using both SAE and Metric units of measure.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions (written, spoken, or shown in diagrams) and to solve basic problems with a few variables.
