Job Summary

The Machine Operator I, under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, may perform any of the jobs listed below.

Essential Functions

• Comply with Westlake and Procedures
• Maintain regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility
• Water Treatment: Treat process water by adding flocculent to disperse solids. Check pH before discharging to the city. Follow SOP. Log all discharges daily with supervisor approval.
• Sorter: Inspect tiles on the dry side and in charge of the sealer area, including cleaning the sealer booth.
• Strapping Machine: Operate the strapping machine to secure pallets of tile.
• Kiln Exit Operator: Conduct quality checks and package tiles.
• Clean equipment and work areas daily. Notify supervisor or lead of any issues.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

Education and Experience

• Ability to read, understand, and follow simple instructions.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in color or tile manufacturing.
• Forklift driving experience desired.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The employee should be able to:

• Perform repetitive movements such as typing and other tasks.
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Multi-task efficiently.
• Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds.
• Move about the facilities as needed.
