Job summary

Sportworks in Monroe, WA is seeking a Machine Operator I to support metal fabrication processes. You will operate machines, read blueprints, measure parts, and ensure quality while executing drawings and specifications.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and moving quickly to meet production goals. The position requires 1+ year in a metal fabrication environment, familiarity with measurement tools, and a safety-conscious mindset.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a metal fabrication environment
• Basic math skills and the ability to use tape measures, calipers and other common measuring tools
• Support standard safety practices and ensure your behaviors meet company safety standards
• Track record of arriving on time and ready for scheduled shifts
• Previous experience with CNC Laser, Tube Bending, Press Break Operation, and Lean Manufacturing is a plus

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications
• Produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances
• Measure finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance
• Use reading and interpreting blueprints or drawings to execute fabrication designs
• Communicate effectively to meet personal and team production goals
• Maintain parts to current drawing revisions
• Notify lead or supervisor when tools require maintenance
• Participate in Kaizen events to drive process improvements
• Complete work promptly while operating saws, sanders, punches and other fabrication equipment

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Various machines may include punch presses, CNC Mill, CNC Bender, Horizontal Band Saws, Drill Press, and similar equipment
• Produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances
• Measure finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance
• Use your previous experience reading and interpreting blueprints or drawings to execute fabrication designs
• Utilize your excellent verbal and written communication skills to meet both personal and collaborative production goals
• Use your attention to detail to ensure the parts being produced are to current drawing revision
• Recognize when tools are worn or are being misused, notify lead, or supervisor when maintenance is required
• Participate in Kaizen Events to determine process improvements while using your excellent problem-solving skills
• Have the ability to complete work in a timely manner and at the highest quality while running saws, sanders, punch presses, and other fabrication equipment

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• 1+ years in a metal fabrication environment and have familiarity with speeds and feeds, tapping, reaming, countersinking, cuter boring metal, jigs, fixtures and setups involving vices
• Basic math skills and the ability to use tape measures, calipers and other common measuring tools
• Support standard safety practices and ensure your behaviors meet company safety standards
• Track record of arriving on time and ready forscheduled shifts
• Previous experience with CNC Laser, Tube Bending, Press Break Operation, and Lean Manufacturing is a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Factory work environment
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted and > 40 pounds with assistance.
• Committed to the use of PPE as applicable

You’ll work from our Monroe, WA headquarters every workday. Our work is hands-on. We solve real manufacturing and operational challenges together and stay close to what our customers need, in real time, and we’ve found that happens best when we’re in the same building. Being in person is core to how we move quickly, serve our customers well, and stay connected as a team.

Working Condition:

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where significant safety considerations exist from use of dangerous equipment, proximity to moving objects, full-body physical labor and handling of medium-to-heavy weight materials. You must be able to be on your feet continuously for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and tolerate environmental conditions of noise and heat.
