Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator I in Martin, Tennessee to set up and operate production equipment in accordance with established procedures. You will secure materials, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and perform pre-shift inspections.

The role requires a minimum of 6 months in manufacturing and a preference for a high school diploma or GED. This is a full-time, on-site position that supports safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives within the

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing or assembly.
  • Basic math skills are preferred.
  • HS diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Completes work area set up and operates the machine in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Stacks finished products and maintains a clean, organized work area.
  • Performs pre-shift inspections and reports issues.
  • Maintains production records and checks materials for quality compliance.
  • Follows safety, quality procedures and participates in CI programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job SummaryMachine Operator I is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Secures and maintains material and supplies required on the operation.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesCompletes work area set up.Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.Maintains production records as required.Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma/GED is preferred but not required.Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.Working knowledge of basic math preferredHigh school diploma/GED preferred but not required.Must be at least 18 years of age.Click here to watch what a day in the life of a Machine Operator looks like.The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
