Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and operate production equipment in accordance with established procedures. You will secure materials and supplies to keep the line running efficiently and safely.

Safety and quality come first; you will perform pre-shift inspections, maintain clean work areas, and help maintain production records. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with at least 6 months of manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of manufacturing/assembling experience.
• Working knowledge of basic math.

Responsibilities

• Complete work area setup.
• Operate and feed the machine safely and efficiently.
• Stack finished products and label/band components when required.
• Keep the work area safe, clean and organized.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and report issues.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintain production records as required.
• Check materials and finished products for standards.
• Follow established safety and quality procedures.
• Participate in safety and CI programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes work area set up.
• Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.
• Working knowledge of basic math.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
