Job summary

Stellar in the United States is seeking a machinist trainee to operate Fabrication Department machines, including Mill, Lathe, Laser, Brake Press, Burnout Table, Saw, Overhead Crane and Forklift. Training will be provided on equipment and safety protocols.

The role requires reading blueprints, teamwork, punctual attendance, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed. The candidate must be authorized to work in the US and follow supervisor directions.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Exceptional attendance is expected.
• Candidate must be able to climb ladders as needed and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Be capable of performing all aspects of the Fabrication Department machines with the team.
• Read blueprints and understand technical documents required by the machinist role.
• Follow directions from supervision and improve quality and safety practices.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and prevent scrap or rework.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Lead Person or Supervisor.

Summary: Successful candidate will be trained on Fabrication Department machines to include Mill, Lathe, Laser, Brake Press, Burnout Table, Saw, Overhead Crane and Forklift. Will perform various tasks on these machines or other work as directed by Lead Person or Supervisor.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following

• Be capable of performing all aspects of the Fabrication Department machines, working with other employees as part of a team, and be prompt and on time daily for work.
• Willingness to take direction from area supervision and follow that direction.
• Be capable of reading blueprints and understanding them and other technical documents required by the job of machinist.
• Have the ability and desire to become efficient with mechanical equipment and learn all aspects of job as required.
• Continually demonstrates a productive and non-disruptive work ethic.
• Works in such a way as to create no or limited scrap or rework and works to continually improve quality level.
• Follows all company safety rules as laid out in the company safety manual and all other company policies.
• Maintain company equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Continually strive to improve in all aspects of job requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Daily use of 5 senses to maintain safety for the team and self.
