Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and operate production equipment according to established procedures. The role requires maintaining material flow, quality checks, and a clean, safe work area.

The position emphasizes adherence to safety guidelines and routine pre-shift inspections, with responsibilities including record-keeping and participation in CI activities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up the production area and equipment for operation.
• Operates the machine safely and efficiently following procedures.
• Stacks and moves finished products per procedures; may label or band components.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area; ensures equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift/startup inspections and reports issues.
• Keeps production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products for quality standards.
• Participates in safety, Continuous Improvement, and related meetings.

Job Summary

Machine Operator I is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Secures and maintains material and supplies required on the operation.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes work area set up.
• Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
