Job summary

Staffmark Group in Santa Fe Springs, CA is seeking a Machine Operator Helper to support belt grinding equipment, load materials, and help ensure product quality in a fast-paced production environment.

You will work on either the 1st or 2nd shift, with mandatory overtime and alternate weekends; high school diploma or GED preferred; entry-level candidates welcome.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Technical training in manufacturing, machining, metal fabrication, or industrial production is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of belt grinding equipment, including belt changes, machine adjustments, and fixture preparation.
• Load, unload, and transport raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the production process.
• Perform basic grinding, deburring, smoothing, and surface-finishing tasks to meet customer and quality specifications.
• Inspect finished parts using measuring tools and complete quality checks, production counts, and documentation.
• Support packaging, labeling, and material staging activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area by removing debris, metal shavings, and dust.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and manufacturing standards while promptly reporting equipment issues or hazards.

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedules Available

• 1st Shift | 6 AM - 2:30 PM
• 2nd Shift | 2:30 PM - 11 PM
• Mandatory OT plus alternate weekends

Physical Capabilities

• Regularly lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the workday.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, vibration, metal dust, sparks, and moving machinery while wearing required PPE.
• Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to safely handle materials and equipment.
