Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Machine Operator for the Heading department on 2nd shift (M-F, 2:00 pm-10:00 pm) in Stanfield, NC. Training occurs during 1st shift hours (6:00-2:00pm).

The role focuses on achieving production schedules, machine changeovers, and producing quality parts per plans and checks. You should have a High School diploma or equivalent, be able to read blueprints, and possess mechanical aptitude with at least 2 years of machine-operating experience.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints to ensure correct part production.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for shift handoffs and safety notices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production schedule is met for the Heading department.
• Perform machine changeovers and setup adjustments.
• Produce quality parts following in-process checks and production plans.
• Run parts to customer specifications and document results.
• Support 6S initiatives and environmental, health, and safety practices.
• Coordinate material flow to work centers and assist with process improvements.

What You’ll Do:

As a Machine Operator in the Heading department, you’ll be part of our Manufacturing team located in Stanfield, NC. You’ll get to:

• Assures achievement of the production schedule.


• Perform machine change overs


• Produce quality parts by following in process checks and production plans


• Run parts to customer specifications.


• Ensures improvements are sustained in work area.


• Actively supports and complies with all environmental, health, and safety practices and regulations.


• Coordinate wire supply and/or materials to work centers as needed.


• Supports all 6S work initiatives


• Provide assistance in quality improvements.


• Perform all physical movements of materials and the entry of computer transactions into the manufacturing system as needed.


• Demonstrates motivation to achieve all Production, Quality, and Safety Targets.


• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.


• Must complete all applicable training plans.
