Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a full-time production operator at our Mount Pleasant, IA site. Base pay starts at $18.00+ per hour with a day shift from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

You will operate machines, read production orders, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity while supporting continuous improvement. Responsibilities include equipment inspection, material handling with forklift/crane, and maintaining clear communication with the team.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience; understands and competent in safe and efficient operation.
• Includes all line equipment, processes and procedures.
• Detail and quality oriented.
• Dependable and energetic.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer skills (Email, Internet, Excel, Word).
• Experience with hand tools, wrenches, banding equipment and nail guns.
• Able to read a tape measure and other measuring devices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly; overhead and waist height.
• Forklift and crane experience a plus; must be trainable.
• Flexible with overtime and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates machine and instructs line help to safely meet production, customer, and company goals.
• Support company core values; participate in a safe work environment; complete observations.
• Inspect equipment for safety.
• Read and understand a production order.
• Meet company productivity requirements.
• Meet company and customer quality requirements.
• Use forklift, crane, and manual handling of materials; complete documentation.
• Communicate effectively with team, supervisor, and management.
• Maintain promotability to Operator II and Operator III.
• Stand and walk 8 to 12 hours daily; climb on/off equipment and ladders.
• Work under varying outdoor conditions (hot, cold, rain, shine).
