The role requires basic math, the use of measuring tools, and the ability to sit or stand for long periods while meeting production targets.

Responsibilities

• Operate molding and production machines safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot as needed and notify supervisor of problems.
• Visually inspect parts for conformance to quality standards.
• Conduct quality checks using measuring equipment.
• Package parts and label boxes for proper handling.
• Log rejects on the Attribute Charts and follow procedures.
• Review operator inspection procedures before taking over tasks.
• Use basic measuring equipment to verify dimensions.
• Perform secondary operations such as degating, trimming, or gluing as required.

Job Summary

Under minimum supervision, operates and follows instructions to operate the machines in a safe and efficient manner. Monitor the operations of the machines and notify the supervisor if there are any problems. Visually inspect parts produced and determine if they meet quality standards. Complete documentation on defective parts. Assist Machine Operator 1 level employees as needed.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Operator molding and other production machines in a safe and efficient manner, notifying the lead or supervisor if there are any problems.
• Some troubleshooting skills required.
• Visually inspect parts and determine if they meet the acceptable quality limits.
• Conduct quality checks using measuring equipment.
• Package parts as specified to ensure proper and safe handling of the product.
• Log all rejects on the Attribute Charts.
• Review the operator inspection procedure before taking over any job.
• Label all boxes after packaging to ensure proper handling of parts.
• Ability to use basic measuring Equipment.
• Degate and trim parts as required using secondary machinery to accomplish.
• Ability to perform secondary operations such as gluing, welding, trimming, and some assembly.
• Ability to use part count scale.
• Ability to understand and check the work of machine operator Level One.
• Keep work area clean.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of various measuring equipment.

Required Skills

• Strong written/verbal communication
• Good decision-making skills
• Ability to work under time constraints with changing priorities
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Minimum of 1-year prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to maintain acceptable reject rate, accurate part count, accurate labeling and accurate packaging.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Basic PC and internet skills.
