Job summary

Mars Snacking in Hackettstown, NJ is seeking a Night Shift Machine Operator for forklift operations in a peanut facility. You will operate equipment, perform changeovers, and support training for team members to ensure efficient production of high-quality products.

The role requires 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, with starting pay of $25+ per hour plus a $2/hour shift premium. Prior manufacturing experience and forklift certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education.
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Proficient in using computers and PC software, including Microsoft Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing equipment and perform routine repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Identify and resolve problems to root cause and take corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Maintenance to perform equipment preventative maintenance (PM).
• Conduct and document quality control tasks including checks, date codes, item numbers, dump logs, and waste performance.
• Maintain detailed logbooks and shift support documentation in compliance with quality standards.
• Perform additional ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Description Of Role

Machine Operators (Team Members) are experts in operating equipment, machinery, and systems within their assigned area. They are responsible for ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products, performing machine operations and changeovers, and supporting the training of other team members.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Proficient in using computers and PC software, including Microsoft Office and email

Physical Requirements

• Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs.) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs.)
• Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
• Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
• Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
• Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.
• This is a Peanut facility

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical degree or certification
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting operating a variety of machines
• OSHA certification
• Experience with SAP

What will be your Key Responsibilities?

• Perform any additional ad hoc tasks as assigned.
