Position Purpose

Responsible for running the set speed line with 1, 2, or 3 operators depending on the team size. The line operator must be able to run the upsetter for the 1st and 2nd pass, operate the forge, trim, and coin presses, inspect parts for defects, and carefully place parts into the hot box.

Hourly Pay Range

$18.50 - $21.75

Essential Functions
  • Maintain Environmental Health & Safety standards
  • Properly start up and shut down the line
  • Set the Ajax to the correct temperature for the set speed
  • Operate the line at specified speeds without gaps
  • Run upsetter and forge press
  • Inspect each part for defects
  • Handle parts with care
  • Notify supervisor of issues
  • Assist with tooling on the line or upsetter
  • Keep work area clean and safe
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Training
  • High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Basic math skills
Physical Demands
  • Twisting, bending, and lifting repetitively
  • Standing for 8-12 hours
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs repeatedly
  • Good eye/hand coordination and motor skills
Environmental Conditions
  • Exposure to loud noise, heat, humidity, grease, and hot scale
  • Wear protective gear including leather gloves, heat-resistant sleeves, hearing and eye protection, steel toe boots with metatarsals
