We are looking for Machine Operators!
Position summary: The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and operating machinery. This role requires working across various manufacturing departments to meet scheduling and production needs.
Position responsibilities:
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start production cycles
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed)
- Feed raw materials into semi-automated machines
- Inspect products using precision measurement tools
- Periodically test machine operations
- Address issues that occur during shifts
- Monitor output for machine-related errors or flaws
- Keep records of approved and defective units
- Maintain activity logs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a machine operator
- Knowledge of high-speed machinery and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Understanding of production procedures
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., use of protective gear)
- Attention to detail
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Physical stamina and strength
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Support SQF compliance by maintaining food safety plans and quality, ensuring sanitary work areas, and adhering to FDA, USDA, and Kosher standards
- Report food safety issues and food defense concerns to appropriate personnel
Safety Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety procedures and GMP guidelines
- Understand the importance of food safety as a key performance indicator
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must walk, sit, handle objects, reach, balance, stoop, and communicate effectively
- Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception
- Work outdoors and in noisy environments, requiring ear protection
