Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate resistance welders, MIG welders, assembly/automated equipment.
  • Perform machine set-ups as production demands.
  • Troubleshoot machines and adjust settings as needed.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure parts meet guidelines.
  • Test machine operation to ensure smooth running.
  • Perform preventative and regular maintenance on presses/equipment.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and 5S principles.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing practices.

Purpose

The Assembly Machine Operator is responsible for safely performing machine setups and operating resistance welders, MIG welders, assembly equipment and automated production lines. Incumbent must also control and adjust the functions and settings of machines and will be responsible for ensuring products meet our quality standards with regard to assembly specifications.

The Assembly Machine Operator is responsible for safely performing machine setups and operating resistance welders, MIG welders, assembly equipment and automated production lines. Incumbent must also control and adjust the functions and settings of machines and will be responsible for ensuring products meet our quality standards with regard to assembly specifications.

Essential Functions
  • Set-up and operate resistance welders, MIG welders, assembly/automated equipment
  • Perform machine set-ups as needed when the production schedule demands.
  • Trouble shoot machines and adjust the functions and settings of machines
  • Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelines
  • Test the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running
  • Perform preventative and regular maintenance on press to ensure that their operational life is extended
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promote safety. Compile with OSHA and MDSD Standards.
  • Participate in 5S activities
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1+ years previous relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior welding or assembly experience desired, metal stampings preferred
  • Working knowledge of resistance and MIG welders
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired
  • Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
  • Attention to detail
  • Must have excellent attendance as well as willingness and ability to work overtime
