Job summary

Tarter Farm and Ranch is seeking a motivated fabrication operator in Utah to perform manual labor on multiple machines and maintain product quality. You will document production logs, participate in 5S initiatives, and assist with equipment setup and maintenance.

Candidates should read blueprints, read tape measures, and demonstrate strong communication. The role requires physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate band saws, press brakes, plasma tables, and other listed equipment.
• Ensure product meets specifications and perform quality checks.
• Complete daily production logs and maintain organized work area (5S).
• Set up equipment and inspect prior to operation.
• Communicate with shifts and coordinate start/stop procedures.
• Assist mechanics with repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Cross-train on other jobs to support production.
• Perform equipment change-overs as required.

FABRICATION

SUMMARY:

Perform manual labor on various machines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Including the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by management and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific Tarter site and/or the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company):

• Operate machinery and computers that may include the following: band saw, press brake, plasma table, minster press, iron worker, tube bender, tube notcher, drill press, overhead crane, or forklift.
• Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary to produce product with specifications.
• Complete daily production logs.
• Clean and maintain a neat work area (5S projects and continuous improvements).
• Initial set-up and inspection of equipment to be operated.
• Communicate with operators and set-ups from other shifts.
• Start up and shut down procedures.
• Assist mechanics and machinists in repair work.
• Be able to cross train on other jobs.
• Perform equipment change-overs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors and work boots.
• Loose fitting jewelry and clothes are not permitted.
