Job summary

ProAmpac is hiring for an on-site extrusion operator at our Haverhill, MA plant. The role focuses on setting up and operating extrusion machinery, ensuring product quality and meeting production quotas.

You will monitor processes, troubleshoot issues, and train newer crew members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates should have a HS/GED and 2–4 years of related experience; strong time management, safety awareness, and effective communication are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely sets up, operates, and monitors extrusion machinery to meet production goals.
• completes extrusion machine setup for production runs, loading materials, adjusting settings, calibrating equipment.
• Monitors production process, inspects materials and equipment to meet quality standards and quotas.
• Verifies and tracks materials for inventory and work in progress.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and performs routine maintenance to keep machinery running.
• Trains and mentors machine assistants and new crew members.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of machinery and surrounding areas.
• Adheres to safety guidelines and wears PPE; reports hazards to team.
• Completes all necessary internal or external documentation.
• Collaborates with other departments to coordinate production activities.

ProAmpac is hiring! This position is onsite at our Haverhill, Massachusetts plant.

Shift: Rotating 2:2:3 7:00pm - 7:00am

Essential Duties and Tasks

• Safley sets up, operates, and monitors extrusion machinery and equipment as intended and needed to meet customer and production goals.
• Completes extrusion machine setup for production runs, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and calibrating equipement to ensure proper operation.
• Monitors the production process, inspects and tests materials and equipment using safe and proper protocols, to ensure products meet quality standards and production quotas are met.
• Verifies and tracks all materials for inventory and work in progress regulations.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance tasks to keep machinery operating efficiently.
• Trains and provides guidance to machine assistants and new crew members.
• Keeps machinery and surrounding areas organized by meeting housekeeping, storage, staging, and cleanliness requirements.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, to prevent accidents or injuries. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment(PPE) as required by safety policies and reports any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Completes all necessary documentation for internal or external use.
• Effectively works with other departments or team members, such as machine technicians, supervisors, and quality control inspectors, to coordinate production activities and address any potential issues as they arise.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

• HS/GED required; HS/GED preferred
• 2-4 years' experience in a related field experience in a related field required.
