Job description

Maintenance Engineer

Hercules Drawn Steel, a cold drawn steel mill, currently has an opening for a Maintenance Technician at our Livonia, MI facility. The full-time Maintenance Technician will be training with the current maintenance manager to learn and repair all plant equipment.

Equipment includes Wean Drawbench, Samuel Platt Drawbench, Schumag Drawbench, Danielli KZ80 Drawbench, Banders, Meelco Testers, and Bar Straighteners. Responsibilities include daily maintenance, machine repair, welding, millwright work, electrical work, and replacing machine parts as necessary to maintain plant operations.

General Functions:

• Open to work any shift
• Familiarity with Draw Benches and testing equipment used in the transformation of metal bars
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of OSHA/MIOSHA safety standards
• Adherence to safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout

Required Skills:

• Machine repair and troubleshooting
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints and fabricate parts accordingly
• Journeyman status
• Ability to operate Bridgeport and Lathe machines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Starting from $32.40 per hour
