Job summary

Blommer Chocolate Company in Pennsylvania seeks a Machine Operator for the 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 10:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.). The role includes preparing boxes, labeling, QA, and moving finished products on the line. Base pay is $21.50 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential, and benefits start on day one.

You will ensure GMP and HACCP compliance, keep the work area clean, rotate through production areas, and collaborate with team members to maintain safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare boxes for production line: record empty weight, add liner, stamp product line, affix product labels.
• Evaluate product visually for symmetry and raise concerns to Supervisor.
• Load finished molded product into boxes or bags.
• Sort products not meeting quality standards to re-work bin.
• Report defective materials, missing or damaged tools, or unsafe conditions to Supervisor.
• Rotate into other production areas as needed and assist on downtime tasks.
• Operate within Blommer core values of respect and care for others.

Available Shifts

• 3rd Shift : Sunday - Thursday 10:30p-7a : base pay $21.50 +$1 Shift Differential

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare boxes for production line: record empty weight, add liner, stamp product line, affix product labels
• Evaluate product visually to ensure appearance is symmetrical and notify Supervisor of any concerns
• Load finished molded product into boxes or super sacks
• Sort product that does not meet quality standards, place in re-work bin
• Report any defective materials, missing or damaged tools, or questionable conditions to Supervisor
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
• Ensure critical control point compliance documenting US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) results, magnet cleaning, downtime, waste generation; Report any non-conformities
• Rotate into other production areas and perform additional duties where resources may be needed
• Collaborate with co-workers on the plant floor throughout production cycle
• Pick up other tasks that may be needed during downtime (maintaining clean work areas, etc.)
• Operate within the Blommer core values of respect and care for others

Physical Requirements

• Able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods of time
• Able to set up, adjust and operate machinery
• Regularly required to bend, stoop, and reach
• Able to observe and detect issues
• Occasionally ascend/descend stairs
• Occasionally move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
• Constantly operate within a manufacturing product environment - daily exposure to noise, dust and variation in temperature (hot/cold)

• Operate with a focus on safety and quality, while maintaining a sanitary work environment
• Comply with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Lockout/Tagout requirements for hazardous energy sources
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards
• Adhere to FDA HACCP guidelines
• Adhere to Allergen Management best practices for food manufacturers
• Comply with workplace uniform requirements and safety gear
• Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and code of conduct
