Job summary

SPX Technologies is seeking an assembler for our Electric Heat division. You will assemble heater unit components and fabricate necessary parts per work orders, blueprints, and engineering specifications.

You will lay out electrical installations, wire thermostats, and ensure assemblies meet quality standards while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • ASME brazing procedures: BPS-B1 to BPS-B5.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in a loud environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out diagram for electrical installations per wiring specifications.
  • Drill and tap holes for mounting control units.
  • Attach breakers, relays, connectors, bus bars, transformers, and insulators.
  • Paint product as necessary.
  • Install and wire thermostats and other options.
  • Fabricate bussing and solder connections.
  • Test and adjust electrical components.
  • Discuss errors in diagrams or production orders with supervision or engineering.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse t eam of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an Assembler, you will assemble all heater unit product codes and fabricate necessary components as required per work order, blue print, and engineering specification.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Lays out diagram for electrical installations according to wiring specifications.
  • Drills and taps holes in specified locations for mounting control units.
  • Attaches breakers, relays, connectors, bus bars, transformers, and insulators.
  • Paints product as necessary.
  • Installs and wires Thermostats and other options.
  • Fabricates bussing, and solders connections.
  • Tests and adjusts electrical components.
  • Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervision or engineering to clarify assembly problems.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience
  • One to three months related experience and/or training
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Certified in the following ASME brazing procedures, BPS-B1, BPS-B2, BPS-B3, BPS-B4, BPS-B5
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
