We are seeking a Machine Operator to join our expanding team in the Portland area. The Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring machines operate at full capacity while producing quality products. Responsibilities include maintaining machines, performing periodic checks, inspecting production runs, documenting results, reporting malfunctions, and maintaining cleanliness of equipment and the work area.

Work schedule is typically Monday - Friday, starting at 5:45 am, with 8-10 hour shifts.

The starting pay is $20/hour plus a 50-cent shift differential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate machinery safely and efficiently, including setup, troubleshooting, and breakdown during shifts.
• Set up, start, and shut down equipment at the beginning and end of shifts promptly.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
• Adjust machinery to maximize efficiency and communicate improvements to team members and departments.
• Identify and report mechanical issues that could lead to breakdowns or downtime.
• Operate additional equipment as needed in the production process.
• Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) consistently during production.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of recent experience as a Machine Operator.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Basic math skills, including calculating percentages.
• Ability to work in cold or warm environments depending on the line and machine.
• Comfort with physically demanding work involving movement and heavy lifting.
• High attention to detail.
• Availability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
