Job summary

MCC, a global leader in premium labels, is hiring Machine Operators to join our team in Clarksville, TN. The Slitter role involves taking master label rolls from the Rewind Feeder and producing customer order rolls ready for shipping. Experience is not required but beneficial.

We offer a $1000 sign-on bonus, 2-2-3 rotating day/night shifts (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am), comprehensive benefits, and paid holidays. Responsibilities include setup, quality checks, and preventing misprints while maintaining

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for label counts and conversions.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Physical ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Sets up rewind machine to cut and rewind specific counts per customer order.
• Runs orders, fills out core labels to identify order, and stacks orders on carts.
• Keeps orders separated by size, city, UPC or plant numbers.
• Checks rolls while running for misprinting; report error to pressman and supervisor.
• Cuts out “bad” labels on rolls and splices rolls.
• Directs errors to rework area.
• Rotates through rework area to rework “bad” rolls.
• Clean rewind machine or turret machine as needed.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Operate turret machine
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide to figure label counts and conversions. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
