Job summary

Marketing.com in the United States is seeking a focused Cutter Operator to set up, operate and maintain Polar cutter(s). You will cut paper stock and prepare loads for folding, stitching, hand assembly or shipping.

You will review specifications, measure with a scale, enter cutting positions, align sheets, adjust the computer program, and ensure finished material meets quality standards. The role requires HS diploma, physical stamina to stand most of the time and lift 50-75 lbs, with competitive

Responsibilities

• Review specifications to determine page sequence, fold type and size.
• Measure from sheet edge to set cutting positions with a scale.
• Enter cutting positions into the computer memory.
• Load sheets onto the cutter bed and align for cutting.
• Activate the cutter and adjust as needed for accuracy.
• Inspect finished material for defects and adjust as required.
• Record job information on load tags and time sheets.
• Instruct/lead the cutter helper; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Set up, operate and maintain Polar cutter(s). To cut paper stock and prepare loads for folding, stitching, hand assembly or shipping.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Review specifications to determine page sequence, type of fold and page or sheet size.
• Measure from edge of sheet using scale to determine incremental cutting positions from guide.
• Enter cutting positions in proper order into computer memory/program.
• Remove sheets of printed stock from the load and place them on the cutter bed. Jog and align sheets against the cutter guide in preparation for cutting.
• Activate computer to move sheets into first cut position.
• Examine cut material for any imperfections and adjust computer program as needed.
• Remove finished or pre-finished material from the cutter bed and stack on pallets for shipment to the customer or next operation.
• Record job information on load tags and time sheets.
• Change knives and lubricate as needed as recommended by manufacturer’s specifications.
• Responsible for instructing/leading the cutter helper.
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent

Preferred Skills

• Perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions, Job Jackets, press imposition and rule-up sheets.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Must have basic electronic and computer keyboard knowledge.
• Stand and walk 95% of the time.
• Extensive lifting and bending actions.
• Physically capable of lifting to 50-75lbs. Our cutters have automatic lifts.
