Job summary

Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) is seeking a hands-on Finishing Department Operator for the Collation line. You will operate punching machines to extract cards from large sheets, inspect quality, and sort finished cards into boxes. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to manage material flow in a fast-paced environment.

The position is first shift, with overtime and weekend work as needed. Starting pay is $18 per hour, with increases based on experience, and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical trade school training preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing role.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate a calibrated punch machine to cut individual cards from laminated sheets.
• Inspect batches for quality and sort cards into boxes.
• Manage material flow by clearing bins and reloading supplies.
• Follow safety and quality procedures to ensure no defects proceed to the next stage.
• Translate written work instructions for training teammates and temporaries.

Finishing Department - Collation

The Finishing Department takes printed panels and turns them into individual cards. Operators work 1st shift Monday - Friday 5:30am - 1:30pm and use a calibrated punch machine to cut individual cards from large, laminated sheets, inspecting each batch for quality, sorting the cards into boxes, and managing the material flow by clearing bins and reloading supplies. This is a great role for those who enjoy hands-on work and maintaining steady, efficient production. Operators run machines such as Oasys, Kurz, Burkle, Muhlbauer, Spartanics. This step requires precision, ensuring cards are cut clean, corners are smooth, and no defects move forward in the process. This is a fast-paced area where consistency and attention to detail are essential as products transition to the next stage of production.

STARTING AT $18/HOUR, INCREASES BASED ON EXPERIENCE.

• Ability to comprehend and translate written work instructions to provide training to other employees and temporaries assigned in the department
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a time sensitive, deadline driven environment
• Understanding of quality processes and procedures
• Understanding the influences of the vision system. (Pixels, lighting, masking and filters – ensuring that the correct vision file is created)
• Safety conscious with a good understanding of general safety requirements
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

• Physically able to bend, lift, and stand over long periods of time
• Flexibility on schedule (must be able to work overtime and on weekends on an as needed basis)
• Ability to look at work being produced in high-speed environment for extended periods of time
• Adheres to MasterCard and Visa association security standards

Qualifications
