Machine Operator - CNC3 (1st shift)

This position reports to

Production Supervisor

Your role and responsibilities

Reads work instructions to determine job specifications, machine adjustments, and material requirements. Makes general decisions regarding quality, tolerances, and operation sequence. The operator is responsible for producing a quality product using the quality plans and work instructions. Documents work completed using the manufacturing system. Analyzes and makes major/minor adjustments and edits to CNC equipment and controls to adhere to established specifications. Recognizes hazardous materials conditions and alerts appropriate personnel. Uses dial calipers, snap gauges, or micrometers. Monitors work to ensure that machine/equipment is functioning correctly and takes corrective action as needed. Stacks, marks, packs, and transports finished workpieces. Ability to work overtime as scheduled. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications for the role
  • High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of three (3) years CNC machine experience, including multi-functional equipment. CNC screw machine and lathe experience is necessary. Multi-axis CNC lathe experience is preferred. Setting up and proving out CNC programs is required.
  • Ability to interpret shop mathematics, drawings, and measuring tools. Able to follow quality plans and work instructions.
  • Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions. Capable of solving problems involving concrete variables. Ability to read CNC control panels.
