Job summary

Barnes Aerospace West Chester MRO in Ohio is seeking a Machine Operator on 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 4:30pm–3:00am). You will set up and run CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser equipment to produce parts that meet exact specifications and quality standards.

The role requires two years of production/shop experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. You will read work orders, use gauges and measuring tools, document quality checks, and ensure safe, compliant operations in a FAA/DOT-regulated environment.

Job description

Barnes Aerospace West Chester MRO is seeking a Machine Operator. In this role you will set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines ensuring parts conform to specification and requirements. This position requires considerable attention to detail to produce the highest level of quality and productivity against established standards.

2nd shift Hours Monday - Thursday 4:30pm - 3:00 am

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Primary duties are to set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines ensuring parts conform to specification and requirements.
• Monitor parts dimensions using jigs, fixtures, gages, calipers, micrometers and height gages to assure conformity of parts.
• Complete paperwork required to document the quality of parts completed.
• Checks paperwork to determine required assembly and any special options.
• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies, per customer order.
• Uses precision measuring tools to check parts for correct fit and dimensions.
• Build electrodes for Fast Hole EDM

Qualifications:

• Able to use basic math to add, subtract, multiply or divide and may work with fractions, decimals or percentages
• Able to follow simple instructions or directions
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing as to work requirements, work in progress or work completion
• Ability to meet deadlines.

Education Requirements:

• Must have two years of experience in a production/shop position
• High school diploma or equivalent
