Responsibilities
  1. Perform job functions efficiently to meet departmental and company goals.
  2. Conduct first articles on color and resin changes.
  3. Coordinate with the Quality Control department on production activities, such as held ware and isolation procedures.
  4. Utilize the MATTEC production reporting system to monitor and improve processes, including downtime reports, SPC, and SQC.
  5. Adjust and maintain the bottle operation of conveying, flaming, robotic, and inspection systems on IBM machines.
  6. Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and following manufacturer instructions and procedures.
  7. Continuously improve the efficiency of the IBM production department by refining existing processes.
  8. Work with the supervisor to direct activities of utilities and packers assigned to the group leader.
  9. Own responsibility for assigned machines and production lines.
  10. Contribute to team efforts.
  11. Support and adhere to all Berry safety policies.
  12. Follow and support all Berry GMPs.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Ability to remember department and company policies and procedures, and recall multiple operations.
  2. Ability to analyze and prioritize projects, respond to instructions, and follow through independently.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills to work positively within a team.
  4. Quick information gathering, effective communication, and timely reactions.
  5. Remain calm and direct in emergency situations.
  6. Maintain focus on multiple duties, prioritize, and adjust schedules as needed.
  7. Own responsibilities in the department and support the quality system process.
  8. General mechanical aptitude.
  9. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Basic comprehension skills at a business level.

  12. Possess necessary tools to perform job functions.

Education and/or Experience:

  1. One (1) year of experience in plastic blow molding or equivalent on-the-job training.
  2. High School diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  1. Ability to work twelve (12) hours shifts with breaks and overtime on short notice.
  2. Work safely around open flames, hot plastics, oils, and metals (approx. 350-380°F). Exposure to dust and odors from various substances.
  3. Noise levels typically above 90dB; use of ear protection required.
  4. Work around machinery with sharp edges and moving parts, wearing appropriate PPE.
  5. Occasional lifting of 10-50 lbs., carrying about 50 lbs. for 100 ft, and pushing/pulling heavy molds.
  6. Stand for approximately 10 hours daily.
  7. Visual inspection skills to detect defects and distinguish shades.
  8. Ability to hear alarms and recognize sounds.
  9. Ability to bend and twist at a 90° angle about 50% of the day.
  10. Read and understand work procedures and instructions.
