Job Overview

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator B on the 1st shift at our Mt. Airy, NC manufacturing plant. This position involves the safe operation of equipment to meet customer specifications and ensure production efficiency.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform cutting operations according to programs and customer specifications.
  2. Conduct quality checks on materials.
  3. Unload finished materials and transport to the next production stage.
  4. Manage excess trim material and operate baler equipment.
  5. Maintain communication with team members to minimize downtime.
  6. Record program information accurately.
  7. Cross-train on other equipment as needed.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience as a machine operator.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to interpret measurements.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Flexibility to work hours including some weekends and holidays.
Additional Details
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (schedule may vary).
  • Pay Rate: $17.91 - $18.12 per hour.
