Job summary

RTX is seeking a Machine Operator B for our Andover, MA site. This onsite role involves setting up and operating CNC and manual machines, inspecting parts, and maintaining tooling and processes.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and at least 1 year of machining or maintenance experience, with GD&T knowledge preferred. The position operates on 1st shift (6:00AM–3:30PM) in Andover, MA, and is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Machine Trades, Machining, and/or Maintenance Experience.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge preferred (2+ years).

Responsibilities

• Set-up, run CNC and manual equipment and operate machinery to perform machining and inspection on various materials.
• Select tooling, fixturing, machine feeds and speeds, and methods, including calculating dimensions, to support machining operations.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment to machine and inspect parts and assemblies.
• Deburr parts using all available methods.
• Mark and identify parts as required.
• Operate multiple pieces of equipment/processes simultaneously.
• Advance or retrieve product, material and tooling for self and others.
• Perform duties contained in the Machine Operator C classification as directed.
• Maintain general housekeeping and upkeep of workspace, tools and equipment.
• Maintain records, move materials and follow safety rules in performance of duties.
• Perform other similar duties as required.
• Machines, tools, and equipment used include CNC and manually controlled machines, holding fixtures, tooling, and inspection equipment.

A Machine Operator B will set-up, run CNC and manual equipment, and operate machinery to perform a variety of machining and inspection operations on various materials.

1st Shift – 6:00AM – 3:30PM – Andover, MA. This position is an onsite role.

Must pass Technical Interview

What you will do:

• Works to verbal, written and computer instructions
• Selects tooling, fixturing, machine feeds and speeds, and methods, including calculating dimensions, to accommodate machining operations and processes.
• Utilizes precision measuring equipment to machine and inspect parts and assemblies
• Deburrs parts utilizing all available methods
• Marks, identifies parts as required
• Simultaneously operates multiple pieces of equipment/processes
• Advances or retrieves product, material and tooling for self and others

The hourly rate for this role is $32.77. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
