Job Title: Overhaul Technician (Level I/II)
The primary responsibilities of the Overhaul Technician include disassembly, assembly, cleaning, and testing of mechanical components related to pneumatic and hydraulic valves.
Responsibilities
- Transport materials to and from the workstation using hand tools, carts, pallet jacks, hoists, or cranes. May require heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble components according to work instructions, engineering drawings, and test codes.
- Process paperwork related to disassembly, assembly, and cleaning of pneumatic and hydraulic valves.
- Utilize fixtures, presses, vices, grinders, wire wheels, pneumatic and hand tools.
- Apply common sense to follow instructions in written or oral form.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Experience
- Strong mechanical skills with hands-on experience in assembly and disassembly of mechanical parts.
- Some knowledge of electronics is preferred.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical and pneumatic components.
- Ability to follow engineering specifications, quality procedures, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions and manuals.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Quick learner with the ability to apply new skills immediately.
- Positive attitude, self-discipline, and self-motivation.
- Over 2 years of manufacturing assembly experience or equivalent education and training.
Physical Demands
- Frequent movement, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
- Use of vibrating/impact pneumatic hand tools.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Work may require overtime and Saturday shifts.
Work Environment
- Work involves handling dirty, grimy, and rusted parts.
- Noise levels may be loud in certain areas.
- Work near moving mechanical and pneumatic equipment.
- Indoor work with exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- PPE such as safety shoes and eye protection is mandatory; additional PPE may be required in certain areas.
