Job summary

American Augers, located in West Salem, Ohio, is a division of The Toro Company, and seeks a full-time drill press operator. You’ll run a drill press, read blueprints, and set up fixtures while ensuring proper sequence and quality across parts and assemblies.

The role requires basic math, reading comprehension, and comfort with hand tools. Overtime may apply on Fridays; the work location is West Salem, Ohio.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Familiar with mechanical repair and assembly tools.
• Able to read instructions and maintain production records; basic math.
• Experience in welding, machining, or metalworking is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate a drill press.
• Read information from blueprints.
• Set up, adjust, and operate production equipment while monitoring machine performance and sequencing.
• Set up fixtures and perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools.
• Use a computer to check location, inventory, and routing of parts and maintain production records.

Hours: 5am – 3:30pm Monday through Thursday, some overtime on Fridays

Wage: $18-20/hr based on experience

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operating a drill press
• May read information from blueprints.
• Set up, adjust, and operate production equipmentwhilemonitoring the performance of the machine and carrying out operations in propersequence.
• Set up fixtures, mount parts in fixtures/components, and perform mechanical assemblyusing hand and air tools (wrenches, torque wrenches,impact wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.).
• Use a computer tocheck the location, inventory, and routing of partsand maintain production records.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Be familiar with and have basic experience using mechanical repair and assembly tools includingwrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
• Have appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skillsincluding understandingwritten instructions, maintainingproduction records,and calculatingsums, differences,and fractions.
• Experience or training inwelding,machining, mechanical repair, or metal working machinery operation would be beneficial.
