Job description

PAPER OPERATOR JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for ensuring the finished product is properly palletized and packaged, including staging materials such as master rolls and cartons.

Maintain a clean work area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Follow all safety rules and regulations, wear PPE.
  2. Operate forklift and clamp truck to drop and stage master rolls.
  3. Remove outer packaging from master rolls in preparation for changeovers.
  4. Stack finished cartons on skids.
  5. Print pallet tickets, wrap, cover, and secure skids with corner boards.
  6. Place skids in the paper staging area for warehouse inventory.
  7. Keep packaging materials stocked, including lids, boxes, and cardboard sheets.
  8. Assist in covering for bunch operators during breaks, including packaging, minor adjustments, and master roll changes.
  9. Support on the bunch machine for two-man jobs.
  10. Report maintenance, quality, safety, and production issues to the Paper Supervisor or Shift Supervisor.
  11. Communicate effectively with team members across departments to ensure optimal machine performance.
  12. Work scheduled overtime as needed.
  13. Lift up to 50 lbs.
  14. Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with industry-specific machinery.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • High school level mathematics.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
