Job summary

The Clorox Company is seeking a machine operator to operate, maintain and troubleshoot production line equipment at our Atlanta-Main facility. This facility uses automated packaging equipment and utilities to manufacture and distribute Home Care and Laundry products.

Starting hourly rate is $24.63 with shift differential for overnight hours. The 12-hour shift schedule follows a 2-2-3 rotation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with excellent compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational coursework preferred.
  • 2+ years as machine operator in manufacturing; 3+ years preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and read technical manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate packaging equipment and ensure proper setup.
  • Perform changeovers following procedures.
  • Repair equipment malfunctions using mechanical skills.
  • Identify and solve quality problems with teams.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and order replacements.

Your role at Clorox: The Clorox Company is seeking a qualified candidate for a position as a machine operator to operate, maintain and troubleshoot production line equipment at our Atlanta-Main facility. This facility uses automated packaging equipment and utilities to manufacture and distribute Home Care and Laundry products. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production lines operate efficiently with minimal downtime while adhering to site safety practices. Production lines vary in heavy industrial machinery equipment; the operator's technical skills will utilize a combination of mechanical knowledge for products to be at the highest standards of quality.

Starting Hourly rate: $24.63 with shift differential (if applicable for overnight hours). Shift-12hr. schedule, operating in a 2-2-3, in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.

In this role, you will:
  • Operate packaging equipment, ensuring that it is set up and maintained properly.
  • Perform changeovers on all equipment, following established procedures and protocols.
  • Fix and repair any equipment malfunctions or failures, using your mechanical knowledge and skills.
  • Identify and accurately solve quality problems, collaborating with teams as needed to ensure that products meet or exceed established quality standards.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all supplies and parts assigned, ordering replacements as needed.
  • Assist with completion of improvement projects and equipment installations, working with the engineering team as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring all equipment is operated safely and responsibly.
  • Document all maintenance and repair work in accordance with established procedures.
  • Attending all the training sessions required, staying up to date on new equipment and technologies.
What we look for:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; (some vocational/technical or mechanical coursework in similar areas, highly preferred).
  • The minimum of 2yrs. Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment is ideal. (3+ yrs. highly preferred).
  • A resume is required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and/or call out minor repairs to mechanical issues with equipment due to jams, adjustments, and calibrations.
  • Mechanical technical skills (highly preferred).
  • Knowledge of packaging equipment and processes, as well as quality control principles, i.e., SOP’s, GMPs, 5S’s, WCM.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and various team members.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail, able to follow established procedures and protocols.
  • Other transferable skills such as mechanics, maintenance, blow molding, or machine-shop (preferred).
  • Military/Veteran experience (preferred).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production area for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to operate and maintain equipment.
  • Manual dexterity for handling tools, parts, and machinery components.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to machinery.
  • Work periods of 12 hr. shifts
  • Familiar with packaging equipment, manufacturing production lines, and efficiency along with processes.
