Job summary

The Clorox Company is seeking a machine operator to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot winding equipment at our Atlanta-West facility, ensuring quality products and minimal downtime.

You will perform startups, changeovers, monitor production parameters, complete required paperwork, and support maintenance. This role involves rotating day and night shifts (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am) with a starting hourly rate of $24.63 and opportunities for skill-based pay advancements.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor winding equipment per established procedures
  • Perform machine startups, changeovers, adjustments, and shutdowns as required
  • Monitor production parameters (temperatures, pressures, speeds, material flow) to ensure optimal performance
  • Inspect finished products for quality defects and ensure compliance with customer specs
  • Complete production paperwork, quality checks, and downtime documentation; troubleshoot issues and minimize downtime
  • Load raw materials and packaging; maintain 5S clean and organized area
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and equipment cleaning
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality and productivity

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production lines operate efficiently with minimal downtime while adhering to site safety practices. This position is responsible for operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting winding equipment to ensure quality products are produced efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to meeting production and quality standards. Shift differentials for overnight shift hours. Note this role is rotating swing shifts- rotating both day and night shift. Shifts are 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am.In this role, you will:• Operate and monitor winding equipment in accordance with established procedures.• Perform machine startups, changeovers, adjustments, and shutdowns as required.• Monitor production parameters including temperatures, pressures, speeds, and material flow to ensure optimal machine performance.• Inspect finished products for quality defects and ensure compliance with customer specifications.• Accurately complete production paperwork, quality checks, and downtime documentation.• Troubleshoot machine issues and make minor equipment adjustments to minimize downtime.• Load raw materials and packaging supplies as needed to maintain continuous production.• Remove scrap and maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.• Follow all safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.• Communicate production concerns, equipment issues, and quality deviations to supervisors and maintenance personnel.• Assist with preventive maintenance activities and equipment cleaning.• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.What we look for:Required• High school diploma or GED.• Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment.• Ability to read and follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality specifications.• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.• Strong commitment to workplace safety.• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts as needed.Preferred• Experience operating extrusion, blow molding, winding, converting, or plastic manufacturing equipment.• Experience performing machine setups and product changeovers.• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Continuous Improvement practices.Physical Requirements• Frequently stand and walk throughout a 12-hour shift.• Lift, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.• Work around moving machinery and manufacturing equipment.• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe footwear.Work Environment• Manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, heat, moving mechanical parts, and production equipment.• Fast-paced environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity.• May require mandatory overtime based on production demands.Key Performance Measures• Safety compliance• Production output and efficiency• Product quality and scrap reduction• Equipment uptime• Attendance and reliability• Continuous improvement participation#LI-ONSITEOur values-based culture connects to our purpose and empowers people to be their best, professionally and personally.
