Machine Operator - 3rd Shift/HV (East 8th)

Job Overview

This 3rd shift production position in High Volume is located at 1520 E 8th Street in Winona. The role involves setting up and operating thermoplastic extrusion equipment that blends, mixes, packages, and transports dry or liquid materials to produce customer products.

Work Schedule

3rd Shift hours with a Sunday night start, from 11pm to 7am. Overtime may be required, including weekends. Employees will be on a rotating A/B weekend shift.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, start, and operate machinery according to operating procedures, ensuring continuous strands of material and adherence to safety and ISO standards.
  • Weigh ingredients to meet specifications, insert into machinery, and ensure correct delivery of ingredients.
  • Monitor production and equipment for safe and efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues.
  • Visually or physically examine materials to ensure standards are met.
  • Transfer samples to the lab for evaluation and follow instructions for batch adjustments if needed.
  • Package finished materials in containers or bags.
  • Report issues to Production Lead or Managers.
  • Perform machine cleaning and maintain system inputs/transactions.
  • Document work, participate in training, and follow safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Handle materials and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment following standardized work processes and safety practices.
  • Operate and monitor equipment to ensure quality production.
  • Lift up to 60 lbs., stand for an 8-hour shift, and work in temperature extremes.
  • Read and follow manuals and procedures, maintain a clean workspace, and possess a positive attitude.
  • Willing to work overtime, including weekends, and pass forklift and respirator fit tests.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Forklift experience and previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Includes standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, and exposure to mechanical parts, temperature extremes, dust, and noise.
