Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a team-oriented individual to operate bagging and debagging equipment and maintain a smooth production flow on the line. You will ensure proper sealing, labeling, and inspection for quality, and you will remove defective bottles for recycling.

Candidate must read/write English, work in a fast-paced environment, and follow directions. Prior warehouse/production experience and basic math skills are preferred to support accuracy and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate bagging and debagging equipment and maintain flow of production.
  • Handle products carefully to avoid damage during bagging/debagging.
  • Monitor process for quality, correct sealing and labeling.
  • Inspect products for flaws or impurities.
  • Remove defective bottles for recycling.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and cleaning.
  • Maintain familiarity with equipment and provide quality inspections.
  • Communicate with other departments and notify of issues.
  • Document information clearly and accurately per SOPs.
  • Assist in process improvements and report quality/food safety issues.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and comply with regulations.
  • Follow DFA GMP and corporate requirements.

Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE

Operate machinery and perform activities related to bagging and debagging bottles (placing and removing bottles from protective bags) to maintain the integrity and cleanliness of bottles. Review bottles to ensure they meet quality standards before being filled, labeled, or further processed in the production line.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Operate bagging and debagging equipment and maintain flow of production
  • Handle products carefully to avoid damage during the bagging and debagging process
  • Monitor the process to ensure it meets quality standards, including proper sealing and labeling
  • Inspect products for any flaws or impurities
  • Remove defective bottles from production line, and place in bin for recycling
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and minor repairs, to ensure efficient operation
  • Maintain familiarity with all applicable equipment and provide quality inspections on all related items
  • Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees; notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production
  • Ensure paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and completed with required information
  • Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred
  • Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment

  • Able to use company computer systems
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
