The Extrusion Operator is responsible for running the extrusion machine, checking for quality and accuracy. The operator will load 50lb. bags of resin into the machine, unload, stack, and package the parts formed by the machine.
An extrusion machine operator works in a factory setting, overseeing the production of rods, hoses, and other tubular shapes made of thermoplastic materials for manufacturing or construction. Your primary responsibilities include monitoring the use and maintenance of industrial equipment, performing maintenance, preparing machinery for use, and operating controls in compliance with occupational regulations. The main qualifications needed are manufacturing knowledge, strong communication skills, and experience with drawing machines. A high school diploma or GED is required; a vocational certificate can be advantageous for career advancement.
