Job summary

Fisher Barton is seeking a Machine Operator - Light Press for the 3rd shift in Watertown, WI. You will operate, set up, program, and troubleshoot presses, mills, and auto-forming machines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include die setup, sensor configuration, troubleshooting, and contributing to continuous improvement. Required MO1-MO3 proficiency, strong math skills, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Basic math and computer skills are required.
1 year of machine operating experience or proven performance as Operator 1.
3 years of machine operating experience or proven performance as Operator 3.
Proficiency in MO2 and MO3 skills per site training matrix.

Responsibilities

Maintain safe working conditions and document issues.
Set, align, and secure dies; set up ram strokes.
Set up sensing, lubrication, feeders, and related equipment.
Program sensing equipment and support tools.
Troubleshoot issues, diagnose root causes, and propose solutions.
Participate in 8D/Root Cause/Problem Solving Teams.
Assist with die inspection and record piecework.
Write/update work instructions and train team members.

Machine Operators operate, set up, program, maintain, and troubleshoot presses, mills, and auto-forming machines in a fast-paced environment. You will:

Maintain safe working conditions in area of influence, document and correct acts or conditions.
Set, align, and secure dies
Set up ram strokes
Set up required sensing, support equipment and instruments for feeders, lubrication, air, part ejection and sensors
Program required sensing, support equipment and instruments for feeders, lubrication, air, part ejection and sensors
Adjust/Set Counterbalance
Troubleshoot machine issues, diagnose symptoms, isolate the root cause, and present solutions
Participate on 8D/Root Cause/Problem Solving Teams
Assist with the inspection of die (when required) upon completion of job
Account for steel usage (as required) and accurately record piecework formed
Write and update work instructions
Provide or direct team member training

Required Qualifications:

Basic Math skills
Basic computer skills
1 Year Machine Operating experience or successful performance as a Fisher Barton Machine Operator 1 team member
Proficient in all Machine Operator 2 skills, as defined on the site Training Matrix
Able to operate presses, mills, and auto-forming machines
Able to use basic math to analyze information
Experience with computer systems
3 Year Machine Operating experience or successful performance as a Fisher Barton Machine Operator 3 team member
Proficient in all Machine Operator 3 skills, as defined on the site Training Matrix
Able to set up and troubleshoot presses, mills and auto-forming machines in a fast-paced environment
Experience training fellow team members
Proven problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills
Proven ability to safely operate various manufacturing production machines

Preferred Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
1+ years of Manufacturing experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
3 years of Machine Operating experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
5+ years of Machine Operating experience
Experience using Epicor

Physical | Visual Demands:

Ability to stand 8-12 hours a day
Ability to sit, stand, squat and bend
Reach overhead with one or both arms
Repetitive movement of lifting and placing parts on machines / up to 15 pounds
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to occasionally push/pull up to 75 pounds

Shift:3rd Shift, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sunday to Thursday with availability to work overtime
