Job summary

Fisher Barton is seeking a Machine Operator - Light Press for the 3rd shift in Watertown, WI. You will operate, set up, program, and troubleshoot presses, mills, and auto-forming machines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include die setup, sensor configuration, troubleshooting, and contributing to continuous improvement. Required MO1-MO3 proficiency, strong math skills, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Basic math and computer skills are required.
  • 1 year of machine operating experience or proven performance as Operator 1.
  • 3 years of machine operating experience or proven performance as Operator 3.
  • Proficiency in MO2 and MO3 skills per site training matrix.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe working conditions and document issues.
  • Set, align, and secure dies; set up ram strokes.
  • Set up sensing, lubrication, feeders, and related equipment.
  • Program sensing equipment and support tools.
  • Troubleshoot issues, diagnose root causes, and propose solutions.
  • Participate in 8D/Root Cause/Problem Solving Teams.
  • Assist with die inspection and record piecework.
  • Write/update work instructions and train team members.

You will:

  • Maintain safe working conditions in area of influence, document and correct acts or conditions.
  • Set, align, and secure dies
  • Set up ram strokes
  • Set up required sensing, support equipment and instruments for feeders, lubrication, air, part ejection and sensors
  • Program required sensing, support equipment and instruments for feeders, lubrication, air, part ejection and sensors
  • Adjust/Set Counterbalance
  • Troubleshoot machine issues, diagnose symptoms, isolate the root cause, and present solutions
  • Participate on 8D/Root Cause/Problem Solving Teams
  • Assist with the inspection of die (when required) upon completion of job
  • Account for steel usage (as required) and accurately record piecework formed
  • Write and update work instructions
  • Provide or direct team member training

  • Ability to occasionally push/pull up to 75 pounds
