Job summary

Job Overview

The Machine Operator (Utility Person) is responsible for operating production equipment in accordance with established procedures, safety standards, and quality guidelines. This role supports efficient manufacturing operations by ensuring machines are run properly and production processes remain consistent throughout the shift.

The Utility Person may be cross-trained to operate multiple machines and assist in various areas throughout the facility, providing flexibility and support where needed. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced production environment during second-shift hours.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM

Training Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (1st Shift)

Join our team and play an essential role in producing high-quality bushing products in a clean, safe, and team-oriented environment. As a 2nd Shift Utility Person, you'll contribute to a variety of hands-on production processes that keep our operation running smoothly and efficiently.

A Day In The Life
What You'll Do

Under direct supervision, you'll support multiple areas of production with responsibilities that may include:

  • Assembly of POC and PRC bushings
  • PRC stud coating and related finishing processes
  • Winding cores and cutting foils
  • Cleaning, inspecting, and packaging finished products
  • Assisting with additional assembly and production tasks as needed

What You Bring
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety guidelines, and technical drawings with confidence
  • Basic measurement skills, including using a standard ruler or tape measure accurately
  • Comfort interpreting machine gauges and equipment displays to support quality production
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
  • Comfort working on your feet or seated for extended periods, including repetitive tasks throughout an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to move safely throughout the facility, including walking, climbing stairs, and working from platforms when needed
  • Good vision, hearing, and full use of both hands to perform job tasks effectively
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle materials as part of daily responsibilities
  • Capability to carry up to 30 lbs. short distances as needed for production tasks
