Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for performing various assembly tasks, operating machinery, and ensuring product quality. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Performing aspects of assembly.
  2. Using computers to close out and reprint manufacturing orders.
  3. Reading job manufacturing orders to determine belt specifications.
  4. Calculating spec cards.
  5. Conducting wire bend tests correctly and on schedule for each machine.
  6. Reading and using calipers and tape measures.
  7. Setting up machines including controller length, payoff speed, cutter, benders, dump tray, and Z-center according to belt number.
  8. Operating and observing machines to detect work piece defects or malfunctions.
  9. Measuring wire dimensions for accuracy of machine operations.
  10. Monitoring quality by checking twists, bow, curve, edges, length, number of spans, belt tightness, sponge, pitch, and parallelism.
  11. Performing minor machine maintenance such as lubrication, cleaning, or replacing broken components.
  12. Moving finished stacks to designated areas.
