Overview

Coordinates all activities required to effectively lay out work, set up appropriate machines or equipment to meet or exceed fabrication and customer requirements per design specifications and published schedules. Utilizes resources efficiently to minimize scrap, materials, and labor.

Responsibilities

• Consistently meet and exceed deadlines for assigned tasks
• Efficiently produce parts that meet and exceed quality standards as determined by the Production Supervisor and/or Quality Inspector
• Perform setups and operation of machinery such as shear, riveter, drill press, Strippit punch press, roller, disk sander, portable power tools, band saw, table saw, miter saw, hand brake, manual brake press, mill, lathe, safely and properly
• Troubleshoot machine problems and perform preventative maintenance
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed

Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year related experience and/or training
• High School Degree or GED
• Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred
• Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and understand written and verbal instructions including blueprints
• Effective communication skills to interact with managers, supervisors, and employees
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and understanding of geometry
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in various formats
• Forklift and overhead crane certification preferred

Physical Demands

While performing duties, employees must stand for up to 8 hours, use hands for handling, reach, talk, hear, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift up to 60 pounds, and work in heat. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Employees are exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, dust, airborne particles, loud noise, requiring respiratory, eye, and foot protection at all times.
