Job summary

Amtec Staffing is seeking a CNC Mill Machinist in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The role requires operating Multi Axis Mill Turn CNC machines to produce complex aerospace parts with precision and reliability.

You will study blueprints, perform complex setups, load and unload parts using forklift and cranes, and verify finished pieces meet specifications. Minimum 3 years’ CNC machining experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience.
• Forklift operation experience.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple CNC milling machines and perform pre-operational inspections.
• Study blueprints and specifications to determine tolerances and setups.
• Set up machines, adjust tools, and verify work with proper fixtures.
• Load parts using forklift; use cranes/hoists for loading/unloading.
• Run machines and monitor controls; adjust settings as needed for accuracy.
• Identify and correct malfunctions and maintain records of time on tasks.

CNC Mill Machinist Santa Fe Springs, CA $25-$30/hr plus $2/hr shift pay for 2nd shift

Summary

With little or no assistance, the CNC Machinist will operate Multi Axis Mill Turn CNC machines to produce complex aerospace parts demonstrating advanced cross training flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Fully operate multiple machines as needed, including CNC Mills
• Perform pre-operational inspections
• Studies blueprints, manuals, dispatch specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements
• Perform complex set ups without assistance on multiple machines; checking or changing chucking jaws, tools, rotating off sets, etc.
• Operates sit down forklift to retrieve parts and load them onto racks
• Utilize cranes and hoists to load and unload parts from racks onto machines
• Operate machines on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings and programmed controls
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
• Calculates and sets controls to regulates machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls as required Verifies conformance of finished workpieces to specifications
• Track time on each function or task by maintaining time records on BAMC
