Job summary

CAB Construction seeks a dedicated worker to join our metal fabrication team in Minnesota. You will plan work from orders, maximize material efficiency, and operate cutting and shaping equipment including saws, beamline, brake press, and plasma table.

Strong adherence to safety and PPE requirements is essential. Must have a high school diploma or GED and be able to lift heavy materials, operate a forklift, and perform routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• Ability to use a tape measure for accuracy on cutting dimensions.
• Safety-conscious work habits and PPE compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Plan work by reviewing work orders and aiming for maximum material usage with minimum waste.
• Operate saw cutting structural steel and tubing.
• Operate beamline.
• Operate brake press.
• Operate plasma table.
• Complete required documents.
• Possible grind or deburr parts as assigned.
• Maintain safe handling of heavy materials and equipment.
• Clean and organize work area during and after shifts.

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Plan work by reviewing work orders and incorporating maximum usage of material with minimum waste.
• Operate saw cutting structural steel and tubing.
• Operate beamline.
• Operate brake press.
• Operate plasma table.
• Be able to use tape measure for accuracy on cutting dimensions.
• Complete required documents.
• Possible grind or deburr parts and other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to bend, twist, climb and lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly alone.
• Must be able to lift up to 150 pounds with 1 person assisting.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and overhead hoist.
• Able to handle large steel beams safely.
• Operate safety equipment and observe strict safe work habits.
• Be able to perform general maintenance of saw, beamline, brake press or plasma table.
• Must clean and organize work area throughout shift and at the end of shift.
• Must be able to respond quickly and smoothly to production and customer needs understanding changes to the schedule dictate the work performed.
• Must pass and maintain ability to wear appropriate PPE and monitoring requirements.
• This is a safety sensitive position due to handling heavy material and operating forklifts. This could cause harm to yourself or others.
