The Machine Operator effectively operates most machines on the floor, including most packaging machinery, cob lines, and bulk packaging machinery. This position is located at the Lakeside Foods Packaging Center.

What You'll Do:



  • Conduct maintenance work, requiring moderate skill levels on all associate equipment on a packaging line, including mixing operation.

  • Lubricate, adjust, and clean packaging machine.

  • Maintain and set up machinery on the packaging line.

  • Examine poly to ensure that the correct poly is being applied to the designated product and lot.

  • Examine the cartons to ensure that the cartons are printing according to buyer's specifications.

  • Maintain proper palletizing of the finished cases using slip sheets when necessary.

  • Inspect and compare pallet tickets against pallet load to ensure accuracy.

  • Responsible for all line reporting by computer or paper.

  • Supervise the Line Personnel on their respective line.

  • Assist in training new Line employees and/or new Machine Operators.

  • Responsible for work accomplished by the personnel in the Packaging Department.

  • Adhere to all Lakeside Foods policies and procedures.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.



What You'll Bring:



  • High school diploma or GED, preferred.

  • Previous Quality Control experience preferred.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Basic math function.

  • Able to work independently with little or no supervision.

  • Ability to maintain proper confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Ability to occasionallylift up to 35 lbs.

  • Safety mindset.
