Job description

As a MBL Operator at Steel Technologies, you will be responsible for the complete operation of our cut-to-length machines. This position requires someone capable of reading and interpreting work instructions and working in a multi-tasking environment. The MBL Operator must observe and adjust the operation of both slitting and cut-to-length processes.

2nd shift hours: 2:00pm to 12:30am

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing work instructions for machine adjustments and material requirements
  • Operating the Multi-Blanking machine to slit-to-width and cut-to-length according to customer specifications
  • Monitoring blanks for defects and ensuring compliance with customer and production standards
  • Adjusting MBL setup for quality control
  • Setting up skids on the parts conveyor to ensure continuous production
  • Removing scrap and managing hoppers
  • Assisting maintenance with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
  • Supporting packaging operations as needed
  • Reporting non-compliance or quality issues to supervisors
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the MBL area
